What’s up, ya’ll??
My name is Stephen Phillips and I’m gonna be your trip leader this summer!! Right now, I’m just glad to finally be able to connect to this blog and say hi to everyone! Here’s a little bit about me. I’m 26. I was born in Austin, TX but grew up in Houston. I have four brothers. I went to college at West Point – the U.S. Military Academy and graduated in 2004. I served briefly on active duty in OK and TX, but was medically discharged less than 2 years in due to some shoulder injuries. I worked in NYC for a year or so, then eventually came back to Texas in late 2006. After spending much of last summer working in Guatemala (teaching English, relief work) I became an ESL teacher with Berlitz International, where I have worked for almost a year now!
I can tell you about my interests/passions more in the coming weeks – don’t want this to turn into a giant post here. Just know that I have been praying for each of you specifically for the past few weeks and am beyond excited to see what the Lord will do through us this summer in Mozambique!! I have been praying that He will give us an “undivided heart” for Him (Psalm 86:11). I am so glad that each of you signed up for this journey because I honestly believe it will change your life and spur you on to be an even greater witness for Jesus!
Anyway, I’m glad ya’ll have been communicating so much already! Can’t wait to meet everyone in June!! See you online….
May you be blessed,
Stephen
